Zambia has become one of the most famous tourist attractions in Southern Africa. Locals referred to the Victoria Falls as “Mosi-Oa-Tunya” - the smoke that thunders. The aptness of this name is never clearer than when listening to the roar of the water plunging over rocks, smashing into the crystalline depths below.

Day 2 Tour of the Falls
In the morning after you enjoyed breakfast, you will be collected at your hotel and transferred to the meeting point of Tour of the Falls on the Zambian Side.
When doctor David Livingstone first saw the falls in November 1855 he was in the company of two local tribesmen who showed him this Mighty Wonder of the World. This site today is a world heritage site with the largest curtain of falling water on the planet. The entire width of the fall is 1 700m, so some walking is expected on this trip. Clients get the same feeling as one of our professional guides take them on this amazing trip.
The Zambezi River is Africa's fourth longest river (2700km) which flows from the Kalene hills in Zambia through Zimbabwe and finally into the Indian Ocean during which it drops 483m down to the Ocean. (An additional visa is required to cross into Zimbabwe - not included in cost).
Return to your hotel where the rest of the day is spent at leisure.

Climate:
With its tropical location, Zambia gets hot in the lower regions close to the water like the valleys of the rivers and the shores of the lakes. However, since most of the country lies raised on a plateau, it generally sees a temperate climate. There are three different seasons: May to August is cool and dry, September and October generally is hot and dry, and between November and April, Zambia gets a summer rainy season. Temperatures vary from 24° to 35°C / 75° to 95°F in the summer months, and from 7° to 23°C / 45° to 74°F in winter.
Visas/ Passport requirements:
All nationalities need a visa in order to enter Zambia, which can be obtained at the port of Entry in most cases. Fees vary for different nationalities. Please check with your consultant to check the updated visa costs for your specific nationality at time of booking. To pay for your visa, you can use various currencies. Please note - for the Tour of the Falls on the Zimbabwean side, an additional Visa is required.
Health:
No immunization is required for visitors entering Zambia, other than for those who have left and area infected by Yellow Fever. In such cases, visitors will need a valid International yellow-fever vaccination certificate. Zambia is a malaria-risk area, and taking prophylaxis is most advisable.
Money:
1 Kwacha (ZMK) = 100 Ngwee
You can exchange cash and traveler’s cheques at banks or foreign exchange bureaus in major cities. Cash, especially US Dollars, is the better option since traveler’s cheques might not be accepted everywhere and commissions can be very high.
