The lodge is located in the north of Mozambique in an area called Veranda. Veranda lies at the tip of a peninsula and is only a short distance from Ilha de Moçambique (Mozambique Island), the former capital of Mozambique.

    After the civil war ended in 1992, Mozambique has enjoyed a stable political climate and a growing economy.
